Google Starting to Prioritize HTTPS Sites in Search Results for Security Issues

The advent of the internet and the search engines have enabled us to find things in no time at all. But it has also given rise to many security issues also. Google, the biggest search engine is always concerned about user safety and security. With the passage of time, it has strived to promote an extra secure web and great user experience. To carry on with this effort, the search engine giant had started to provide a minor ranking enhancement to HTTPS URLs in search results from last year onwards. In view of Google, browsing the web should be a personal issue between the website and the user. This personal space must never be encroached upon by the eavesdropping, man-in-the-middle attacks or by data modification.

Now, to further enhance the security issues of its users Google has declared that it will start to value the safe HTTPS URLs over the regular HTTP URLs even if these do not have any links indicating to them. Having many pertinent links has been one of the most popular techniques for the sites to climb the Goggle ranking ladder. The search engine giant is very ardent to see more protected web pages in its results. So, it has indicated that the entrepreneurs can assist by redirecting their HTTP sites to their HTTPS version and by altering the HSTS header on their server.

Google has also generated a guide as to what constitutes a reliable HTTPS site and this also combines issues like not redirecting visitors to or through an insecure page.
