Multitasking, an Obstacle in the Way of Progression

Multitasking

In today’s era, competition is highly prevalent in every sector. People have adopted the habit of portraying their endeavour in accomplishing multiple tasks at the same time. In the light of this fact, everybody is on the verge of learning more and something new and to get involved in some other activities simultaneously with their main job. And, the most common reason behind multitasking is the limited hours that people get in a day.

Time management is one of the biggest challenges of the swift and evolving world. From the ping of texts and emails to focusing on the assigned work while taking a sip of coffee, people are getting a lot to handle and work on. Through multitasking, people might feel like they are doing more and thus getting more to learn. But actually, they are getting it difficult to accomplish even a single task full-fledgedly at a time. As a result, multitasking only leads to substandard productivity and ultimately affect your potentiality and health.

In the words of Katie Brauer, the athlete and international and TEDx speaker, “Higher productivity happens when you limit multitasking and stay focused on completing a task at hand. Studies show that multitasking makes you 40 percent less productive and increases stress levels.” While analysing the right way to focus on a work and getting it done in the proper manner, Brauer suggested that employing a few simple steps in your day to day life can help you get a fair picture of a dramatic difference in the rate of work output.

Similarly, Danielle Dietz-LiVolsi, founder and president of NuttZo, a natural food company stated that the start of a day is the best time to get focused and plan how to deal with multiple works and to attain productive output. According to her, the first thing that you can avoid for the best outcome is checking your cell phone just after waking up in the morning. Secondly, meditation plays a vital role in enhancing the concentration level of an individual. After doing this, you will notice a calmness and clarity in your mannerism, which can take you to the next level of success.

Thus, these simple productive tips can give you the easiest direction to achieve higher productivity. It is advisable that do not get messed up with a lot of stuff. Concentrate on one and make it an effective one.
